Weight management is an important aspect of electric vehicle design and it was realized that DMC could shave 200 pounds off their retro-futuristic product by replacing the old-school fiberglass material that makes up the main part of the chassis with a modern lightweight resin-infused composite. Not only that, but the new stuff is much stronger, which gives the Electric DeLorean better roof crush and side impact protection.
