Weight management is an important aspect of electric vehicle design and it was realized that DMC could shave 200 pounds off their retro-futuristic product by replacing the old-school fiberglass material that makes up the main part of the chassis with a modern lightweight resin-infused composite. Not only that, but the new stuff is much stronger, which gives the Electric DeLorean better roof crush and side impact protection. Epic, of course, has been using composites in its boats for some time and CEO Chris Anthony learned much about using it in automotive applications while creating the now-dead Aptera (sniff) . The Lamborghini Embolado Concept is the work of Luca Serafini, an Italian student in the final year of the Industrial Design Course at the University of Parma, Italy. The name of the concept derives from a Spanish festival called named “Embolado Bull” or “Torro Embolado”. The concept is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo and according to Luca’s declarations the car represents a tribute to the Superleggera : “ After the recent launch of the Gallardo Superleggera, in order to make a tribute to it, I have adapted the Embolado Concept basing on the aestethic modifications of the new model, with some post-process in Photoshop. ” [ source carbodydesign ]

Cadillac was born out of the closure of Henry Ford when Henry Ford left with some of his key partners and the company was dissolved.  With the intention of liquidating the company's assets, financiers left over from Ford's departure, William Murphy and Lemuel Bowen, called on engineer Henry M. Leland of the Leland & Faulconer Manufacturing Company to evaluate the plant and equipment before selling them. Instead, Leland convinced them to continue their car manufacturing business by equipping them with a single-cylinder engine designed by Leland.  The company needed a new name after Henry Ford left. On August 22, 1902, the company was renamed the Cadillac Automobile Company. Leland & Faulconer Production and the Cadillac Automobile Company merged in 1905. The lane in King's Lynn, Norfolk, was opened by Norfolk County Council earlier this month but has faced criticism because drivers need specialist training to negotiate an extremely narrow corner. Buses have been forced to slow to walking pace to traverse a challenging pinch point on the route - which runs between Wisbech Road and Boal Street in King's Lynn. The route was officially opened on 14 March by West Norfolk Mayor Zipha Christopher, but has been branded "unfit for purpose" by locals.
