Car review: Fiat Nuovo Croma

Image
The Nuova Croma makes its debut, the Station Wagon as Fiat sees it, a car full of innovation and substance, with new styling and a more rational range. It can boast both second generation Multijet engines and a lavish array of comfort, safety and infotainment equipment. The Nuova Croma is a benchmark for its segment, with an amazingly roomy interior, and an excellent level of ‘well-being on board’ however long your journey is, thanks to equipment worthy of a flagship that is now the standard outfit, and above all for the original ‘styling’ formula inherited from the previous model – the ‘Comfort Wagon’ concept – that makes it, once more, the roomiest car in its segment. With its even more dynamic look, the Nuova Croma immediately communicates a new approach to the car. It was designed to meet the needs of European society, where there is a growing trend among ‘new families’ (young families with children) to pay more attention to substance, and to demand safety and reliability from the

Blast from the past: Aston Martin Bulldog

Image
In 1975 Aston Martin was sold to a pair of North American businessmen named Peter Sprague and George Minden. One year later the iconic Lagonda was introduced to the world, a futuristic car designed by stylist William Towns. However, that same year, Towns sketched up an even more radical version of his design that would eventually become the mid-engined supercar we all know today as the Aston Martin Bulldog. Bulldog7_02d54fc9_3082_4d24_9506_2c1581109289.jpgThough Towns’ original design was initially knocked back by management, a special one-off version was unveiled in March of 1980 as proof that Aston Martin could build a world-class supercar. Standing only 43 inches tall (just a little bit taller than the Ford GT40), the Bulldog packed a 325bhp 5.3L V8 sourced from the Lagonda with a pair of Garrett AirResearch turbochargers bolted on. The end result was a peak output of 700bhp and an estimated top speed of 237mph. Sadly the Bulldog was only ever given one official test run where it ac

Toyota Prius blows past sales expectations in India with 80 units in three months

Image
video - update - Toyota Prius in 2022 Filed under: Hybrid , Toyota , India 2010 Toyota Prius - Click above for high-res image gallery How much is too much when it comes to selling the Toyota Prius? In India, the Japanese automaker expected to sell just 12 of the world's best-selling hybrids a month, but it has already received orders for 80 vehicles and has delivered 45 since March. Of course, globally, Toyota has sold almost two million Priuses in the last dozen years, so the Indian market isn't exactly important, percentage-wise. The car was just introduced in India this year and has a two-month waiting list even though it is subject to an import duty of 110 percent. The Prius is only the second hybrid available in India after the Honda Civic Hybrid, which was not a hit there. Who wants a Prius in India? The Business Standard says that, "the vehicle is being sought by doctors, industrialists and top executives aged between 35 and 50 years." [Source: Business Stan
